Purpose statement:

The Vice President of Global Marketing is responsible for the overall vision and strategy for the marketing department at IDT. This role will provide strategic leadership, planning and direction to drive growth through commercial, digital, and PR marketing initiatives tied to new and existing products and management of IDT’s global brand. This position will promote and drive innovation and excellence through cross-functional collaboration as a member of the senior commercial leadership team.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and inspire a global, multi-faceted marketing team responsible for demand generation, field marketing, digital marketing, social marketing, brand management, public relations, and strategic planning.

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics that enable achievement of company growth expectations through campaigns focused on lead generation.

  • Drive brand awareness and market visibility through campaigns (email, digital, webinars, events), public relations, social media, search engine optimization, and trade shows.

  • Create and maintain content and digital assets to use and leverage across all commercial channels.

  • Conduct and analyze market research to guide strategic development, support product positioning, and test messaging for market materials

  • Establish metrics for the measurement of marketing program effectiveness; track and report on metrics.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the global marketing function including budgeting, planning and staff development. Recruit and manage a diverse team that enables achievement of targeted results and timely/effective execution of the marketing strategy.

  • Promote a culture of high performance that values learning and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement through problem solving.

  • Drive adoption and implementation of effective daily management tools and standard work in all marketing functions and activities, leveraging DBS tools set and benchmarking best practices in Danaher and external companies.

  • Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace. Including the process of obtaining and disseminating competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines.

  • Prioritize marketing projects and allocate resources accordingly

  • Demonstrate and uphold behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences required, Master’s degree or PhD preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a marketing management role required; fifteen years preferred. Previous Marketing Management in conjunction with 10 years of IDT knowledge is acceptable.

  • Experience leading marketing teams in all traditional areas of marketing

  • Proven record of leadership and managing a marketing organization with global responsibility and establishing long term strategic growth initiatives

  • Experience building, mentoring and leading a marketing team

  • Proven track record of driving profitable revenue and market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period of time.

  • Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting skills.

  • Adaptability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or situation in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel (up to 20% of time) is expected.
