FIRST SECURITY BANK & TRUST CO Retail Advisor Supervisor in Charles City, Iowa

POSITION SUMMARY: Work with Retail Services Manager, Charles City Retail Advisors, and Receptionist. Adhere to bank policies and procedures in the area of deposit compliance. Provide leadership and training to other Retail Advisors. Provide customer service for Retail Banking customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Coaches and trains Retail Advisors on products, processes, and procedures. Communicates core values and provides direction to staff.Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service for each customer coming into the branch.Assist in the establishment, monitoring, and revision of written policies/procedures to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and efficient completion of departmental responsibilities.Identify and attend workshops and review literature to keep abreast of relevant governmental regulations and current industry matters.Assist Retail Services Manager with communication of procedures, compliance updates, and product information to those responsible for selling and servicing deposit products throughout the bank.Serve on internal bank committees as needed.Provide training for new and existing staff, prepare schedules, and assign work within the department, keeping in mind quality customer service, at all times.Open personal and business accounts and prepare all related documentation. Enter data in the appropriate systems for checking, savings, CDs, and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAis). Redeem United States Savings Bonds as requested by customers.Accept applications for consumer loans and real estate loans. Process and forward to loan underwriters for approval.Obtain and maintain current Credit Life and Disability Insurance license. Sell Credit Life and Disability Insurance.Participate in business development by selling bank services and making referrals on all bank services. Identify and follow through on sales and referral opportunities. Make retention and business development calls to existing and potential customers. Develop new customer relationships.Participate in bank-sponsored events as outlined in our financial institutionis iCommunity Events Programi.Perform other duties as assigned.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIESThorough knowledge of banking products and services. Understand basic financial concepts and terminology. Includes both the deposit gathering and lending functions.Strong interpersonal skills required to positively manage staff development and to motivate staff to meet established goals and objectives. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with customers and provide outstanding customer service contact on a regular basis.Ability to work in an environment with sensitive information, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated ability and willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment, with bank staff at all levels.Valid driveris license and ability to travel to other offices as needed.Current credit life and disability license.Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products, along with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new technology.Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience: Two years recent work experience in a financial institution gaining a sound understanding of all new account products and procedures.
