DescriptionSr. RPG / iSeries Developer - Job Description Frontier IT is seeking a Senior IT Development Specialist to support and enhance the Frontier Billing and Ordering applications. As a Senior IT Development Specialist, you will be responsible for working in an agile team environment to design, code and implement software that enhances the current applications. This position will include support of the project from the initial requirements gathering to the final production implementation and support. The accepted candidate will have a breadth of knowledge including working with the business to gathering requirements, creating technical design specifications, using modern application development techniques and implementing well-constructed testing strategies. The Senior IT Development Specialist must be comfortable working with Business Engagement, Project Management, Quality Assurance and other technical teams. Some on-call and off-hours support is required.Experience:10+ years IBM i application development experience required5+ years Telecommunications experience preferredExcellent modern RPG development experience required. Including Fully Free RPG, Static/Dynamic SQL data access, Service Program creation, Using Procedure Interfaces, etc5+ years SQL data access experience preferredStrong application design experience preferredStrong data modeling background preferredUse of the following tools preferred. Hawkeye or X-Analysis, Rational Developer for i, Turnover, Data Studio/Razor SQL/Access Client Solutions for data modeling/accessStrong analytical skills required. Including debugging and data analysisAbility to maintain and modify both old and new RPG programsFamiliarity with application modernization techniques preferred Experience with agile development environments and the ability to quickly change and adapt as needAbility to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a team environmentAbility to manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, attend and contribute to internal technical meetings, and assist in mentoring and training of other technical resourcesSuccessful candidates will have high standards for taking ownership and seeing problems through to a quick resolution.Excellent written, verbal and organizational communication skills requiredProficient in Microsoft Office, Atlassian Jira and Confluence applicationsCollege degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Frontier Communications is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
