Robert Half International Sr. Financial Analyst in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa

Description This Senior Financial Analyst position with one of our clients is an exciting long-term contract / temporary opportunity. This Senior Financial Analyst will be placed at the Cedar Rapids, Iowa office. If you can be our client's primary point of contact for all financial issues, including project spending, planning, forecasting and annual budgeting, you might be a good fit for this role. In this Senior Financial Analyst consultant role, you will perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and execute financial analysis in order to optimize business performance

  • Offer assistance for ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests as necessary

  • Manage positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

  • Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately

  • Capable of communicating updates to senior management, analyzing financial results, and distilling/synthesizing key issues in the course of advancing existing management reporting

  • Survey financial results, condense key trends, appraise current and future business risks, and relay critical updates to senior leadership in the course of normal preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting

  • Influence the development of repeatable business, operational, and financial processes for all necessary teams

  • Team closely with Functional leads by executing management reporting, advising in accounting and compliance, and ensuring operational initiatives are in alignment with each other Requirements - Skills in critical thinking and the ability to operate effectively with management

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required

  • Highly-accomplished in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

  • Auditing experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Excel Formulas

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

  • Skilled at process reengineering and optimization

  • Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Applicants are required to hold a Finance, Business, or related field BA/BS degree

  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
