Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is a 100% remote position. Travel to Cedar Rapids for one week per quarter and as needed to other Collins facilities worldwide for on-site activities required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Execute objectives for requirements management, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.

• Monitor the cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and recommend modifications to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that standards are met.

• Manage work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for large or complex projects.

• Research and evaluate investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization’s systems products and services.

• Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and develop verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

  Required Qualifications:

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer or related role. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or related role would be acceptable.

• At least 3 years of experience with the system engineering life cycle from requirements capture through system integration and verification;

• At least 3 years of experience with engineering tools and processes used throughout the system engineering life cycle;

• At least 2 years of experience with Aircraft Connectivity systems, or relevant products;

• At least 1 year of experience planning and coordinating development tasks across multiple domains; and

• At least 1 year of experience communicating with outside organizations, customers, or suppliers.

The salary range for this position is $103,293.00 to $161,000.00 per year. This is the correct compensation range. Please disregard any additional verbiage noted below pertaining to the salary range.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
