Are you big into Crypto? We’re not talking currency. Our Crypto team in the Secure Processing Solutions Engineering department creates cutting edge embedded cryptographic capabilities for U.S. military communications products. We regularly work with the N.S.A. to ensure our military communications are secure and trustworthy.

Our team works alongside multiple hardware, FPGA and software teams in order to seamlessly embed our advanced technology into several different products all with the end goal of keeping our warfighters safe, secure, and bringing them home. This team gets to work on a wide variety of innovative new and existing products, not your typical repetitive workload!

While a crypto background is helpful, you do not need one for this role. Solid knowledge of software development practices and processes will suffice. This team will provide the tools and training to grow your skills & knowledge in cybersecurity and algorithms and how they play a role in all our products.

What YOU will do:

  • You will decompose systems level requirements into sub-system requirements and develop verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

  • You will lead technical planning, integration, verification, and validation events of cryptographic sub-system solutions, while maintaining cost and schedule.

  • You will develop and execute verification and test plans and procedures to meet system and security requirements.

  • You will grow overall team technical capability through mentoring and coaching of technical concepts.

  • You will support new product design and development.

  • You will be a technical leader of a cross functional team of software and systems engineers who are currently collaborating with multiple teams across RTX businesses to create new and exciting mission critical products to help break into new markets.

  • You will get to work with quantum resistant encryption algorithms.

  • You will communicate effectively to a host of stakeholders across the technical spectrum, including customers, program management and senior leadership.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Experience leading a team in defining requirements, developing architecture and design, performing subsystem- and/or software-level integration and verification. 

  • Previous professional experience with real-time embedded software

Skills We Value:

  • Exposure to Crypto system requirements capture, design formulation, crypto algorithms and their implementation and Integration of crypto system hardware and software components.

  • Experience developing in the Agile framework. 

  • Experience with bidding and bid review, planning and managing project budget, schedule, and scope.

  • Experience with Information Assurance and/or Cybersecurity industry standards of practice

  • Experience as a technical or project led to ensure that project execution is successful.

  • Experience with software development process, methodologies, and concepts as well as Python

  • Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years, but it’s required at the start.

  • Ability to work through challenging situations in a healthy and collaborative way.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
