The Mil-Civil Platform Systems department is seeking a talented Senior Engineering Manager to lead the EDS Platform Systems Team. This unique position will involve interaction with major OEMs developing Avionics System Architectures in support of Advanced Platform needs and requirements.
Primary focus will be providing leadership and guidance to a team of avionic System Engineers focused on full lifecycle development with Rockwell Collins Fusion System for Advanced Platforms. The Ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Fusion System, Civil Certification including ARP-4754A and Scaled Agile Framework and Agile development processes along with the ability to work in a cross functional organization.
Responsibilities on this position includes
Providing technical direction - candidate must be able to direct a team applying sound engineering principles related to avionic system development
Project management - candidate must be able to guide team members on the management of scope, schedule and budget for engineering design activities; candidate will be directly involved in project management and execution including Earned Value and Risk Management
Certification and Process management - candidate must be able to guide team members on the utilization of design and development processes, ARP4754 Certification, and provide assurance that the design activities are consistent with the product lifecycle development for new and existing products through internal guidance and adherence to external development processes outlined by our customers
Performing bids and proposals - candidate must be able to lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities
Personnel administration - candidate must be able to perform hiring, performance assessment, management of personnel issues and creating a highly engaged and motivated team.
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.
Experience leading engineering projects.
Experience with the Pro Line Fusion architecture.
Familiarity with Agile development.
Experience with Atlassian suite of tools, including JIRA.
