Job Description SummaryThis position will primarily be responsible for partnering with stakeholders of IUL/VUL Products and ensuring that the strategic direction is aligned architecturally with the organization. Focusing on continuous delivery for initiatives on the Change Roadmap as well as “run the business” and compliance requests, ensure that the various technical teams are positioned for execution success. Provides applied leadership for any new platforms or systems to be used by the specified Life Product(s). Partners with business owners and IT groups to deliver measurable value that directly benefits the bottom line.Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage roadmap to ensure accurate execution and continuous delivery for IUL/VUL products.

  • Provide IT input and strategic direction for 2022-2023 roadmaps for IUL/VUL Products, Including Business Architecture to ensure strategic direction is aligned organizationally.

  • Manage the additional features needed on new Admin Platform for IUL/VUL.

  • Drive teams and vendors to deliver on RTS and non-RTS milestones.

  • Partner in business planning, stakeholder at MSRB – IT “Go To” for IUL/VUL products.

  • Increase technology visibility across Business, Marketing, Distribution.

  • Drive Agile / Life Product Factory models, reduce dependencies and WIP.

  • Closely manage TA and vendor outcomes.

  • Eliminate blockers for development/testing/deployment teams.

  • Provide technical knowhow and leadership to the development teams to deliver quality solutions utilized by specified Life products but aligning with other Life products and Lines of Business. Continue to drive IT team toward continuous delivery of initiatives, run the business requests, and compliance items per the roadmap developed with the business. Closely manage TA and vendor outcomes.

  • Support best practices for releasing capabilities iteratively, ex: Friends & family/alpha testing for new features.

  • Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Work with cross functional leaders to understand and influence business strategy, set priorities, and define technology goals.

  • Oversee managed services contracts for implementation efforts for new platforms or new systems impacting specified Life Products.

  • Identify opportunities to utilize third-party software development frameworks, open source libraries, and APIs in agile, and speed to market focused development for business partners.

  • Bring a passion to stay on top of technical trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities.

  • Achieve world-class quality of service with oversight, monitoring key performance indicators, managing internal controls, and keeping abreast of market events and industry changes.

  • Act quickly and appropriately to solve problems, bring clarity, eliminate blockers, and minimize the impact of unforeseen circumstances.

  • Drive a culture of change and innovation which constructively challenges the status quo and leads to prudent experimentation. Have a growth mindset with the ability to adopt new practices and spearhead adoption.

  • Develop staff through coaching, provide timely performance feedback and assessments and establish performance and development plans. Mentor current and future leaders, ensuring a constantly rising bar in technical excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT or business discipline, or equivalent education/experience

  • Eight years of experience in business systems analysis

  • Excellent written/oral communication and business partnering skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve and explain complex issues to business partners, team members, and management

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Results oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities within deadlines

  • Ability to quickly grasp technology concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical field

  • 5-7 years experience with Index Universal Life Products

  • Six years of experience managing a diverse team and leading cross-functional teams

  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including product/service evaluation, contract negotiations, and on-going relationship management

  • Results oriented with a strong customer focus

  • Strong communication skills to delivery highly relevant and effective information to the Board, executives, and employees

  • Ability to synthesize ambiguous and complex information in a way the leads to substantive actionable outcomes

  • Proactive mindset to drive change, question assumptions and push for innovation solutions

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

  • Technical communication skills and the ability to present information to all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and identify, define, and resolve organizational issues

  • Creative analytical thinker

  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines

  • Understanding of AWS, API, and real time data processing architectures

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry

Working Conditions

  • Commuting Remote: Will need to report to a Company office location at times, but will perform their work primarily remotely.

Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. *

    Compensation:

    The salary for this position generally ranges between $84,000 - $111,000 . This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

    Bonus Eligibility:

    This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 12.5%.
