We are currently searching for an Industrial/Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2022) to join our team in The Cedar Rapids Service Center. This position requires a candidate with good communication skills (verbal & written) and will require the use of Microsoft Office Tools, (Excel, Visio, and Word) and SAP/FIT. Intern will also need to be a self-directed at times as they assist the team.
Our Candidate must be self-motivated and a passionate engineer willing to help solve problems, provide technical support to operations/support staff, and find ways to continuously improve our processes and procedures. The candidate will work with Management, Engineering and Bargaining Unit to control cost, find cost reduction, support inventory control and resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
Operations support for tooling, fixture and fixture design, and production processes.
Assist in various IE-related projects (i.e. Lean, Audit Prep and Response)
Work with Production Managers to find and correct inefficiencies, resulting in improved productivity.
Develop tools that enable operations, aid process improvement or address safety concerns.
Responsible to lead and manage department projects with medium levels of complexity.
Extracts and analyzes data from applications to propose process improvements.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
