Field Driver Recruiter – Cedar Falls, Iowa

At Ruan, our driver recruiters are responsible for understanding the local driver labor market, know where and how to best reach CDL drivers and maintain a relationship with those drivers from the point of introduction through their hiring.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about our industry and discussing Ruan driving career opportunities on the phone or face to face with candidates. We are looking for someone who is able to source drivers in local markets, work independently, deliver results, has high energy and able to proficiently use technology. Experience with Ten Street Applicant Tracking System is highly preferred. This position will require travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a full understanding of the local driver labor market and develops an effective sourcing strategy for that market.

  • Confers with management and supervisors to identify staffing needs and requirements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with drivers through a variety of sources.

  • Coordinates and participates in local recruiting and on-boarding events.

  • Interviews applicants. Tracks and manages applicants using Ten Street application management software. Performs/coordinates reference and background checks on applicants.

  • Coordinates communications with applicants, hiring managers, and Driver Recruiting team.

  • Develops a full understanding of, and utilizes, reporting features of Ten Street applicant tracking system.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Current CDL and ability to conduct DOT road tests preferred not required.

  • Prior CDL driving experience, or driver management experience preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50% required. Willingness to travel as necessary, work an irregular or extended schedule, work at the specific location required.

  • Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA preferred.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation/record keeping skills required.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment required.
