SUMMARY Assists in the care of pain patients. Assists in Pre-op COVID specimen collection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists Pain nurse during pain procedures by preparing and opening supplies in a sterile manner for patient injections. Will assist as needed with Electroconvulsive (ECT) therapy. Assists patients with transportation, turning and ambulation.
Assists Pre-Op COVID nurse with collection of COVID swabs. May also collect swabs. Helps prepare and processes paperwork related to COVID testing.
Cleans and restocks the pain room after each patient.
Presents a professional departmental image by use of appropriate telephone and interpersonal skills with visitors, patients and providers.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Policies on the Intranet.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or general education degree (GED).
Previous sterile technique preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers, patients, families and employees of the organization.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current BCLS certification required before starting employment.
