Color Guard Director, High School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
Must exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: High School Principal
SUPERVISES: High School Color Guard Squad; High School Color Guard Assistant
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership, supervision and organization of the Color Guard Squad and to carry out the objectives of the program.
To include helping each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and an increased level of self-esteem.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Write, teach and clean/tech marching band routines
Attend rehearsals, performances and contests
Supervise students while at rehearsals, performances and contests
Aid band director in evaluating students at grading periods
Assist in fund raising event(s), if applicable
Audition students for membership in the color guard
Assist band director in the selection of appropriate uniforms and equipment for squad
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the high school principal and superintendent of schools.
