Lumen is seeking early-career or second-career self-starters who are self-motivated with high technical aptitude and an interest in a Network and Telecomm Customer Support role. You will participate in our Ops Academy which is a robust 6-week training program to jump-start and enable your success in this role. This rigorous program is designed to develop tech-savvy individuals in the areas of network operations, IP, and customer care where you will learn about our technology, networks, products, processes, and customer service best practices. Associate Engineer is an entry level position within the North America Operations organization.
The Main Responsibilities
• Create and support reliable networks that meet Lumen’s infrastructure and Product Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets• Responsible for supporting the overall design, cost and inventory of Lumen equipment• Assume the overall strategy, quality, integrity, and reliability of the network/hosting environment• Ensure that network/hosting capacity is available and used in the most efficient manner• When an augment is required, determine that it is properly sized, timed, and budgeted to achieve the required outcome • Work across departments to achieve on-time completion of business case development and product deployment to meet internal and external customer demands
What We Look For in a Candidate
Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor or Master’s Degree plan in Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications or similar field of study• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA• Able to complete project assignments within discipline on time and within budget • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
Preferred Qualifications:• Software development skill-set• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Strong analytic, leadership and presentation skills required.• Ability to work well independently or within a group.• Able to complete project assignments within discipline on time and within budget.• Structured Query Language (SQL), software development/scripting and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial skills/experience are a plus

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
