Function: Quality Engineering

Title: Software/Electronics PDP Quality Engineer - 43305

Your Responsibilities

As a Software/Electronics PDP Quality Engineer for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA, you will handle the Quality Integration Tasks for the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Present Quality Integration deliverable status in Milestone and Phase Exit reviews. In addition, you will:

  • Perform Design Process Assembly Reviews (DPAR) for Manufactured and Purchased Parts

  • Facilitate Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)Specializing in Software and Electronics

  • Participate in in Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) meetings

  • Perform analysis to provide cost of quality for Quality Plan Level (QPL) determination

  • Prepare process and assembly control plans and enter them into John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT)

  • Prepare Non-Conformance Corrective Actions (NCCAs) and Temporary Deviations (TDs) as needed

  • Execute problem solving tools (RCA, fishbone, CTQ, etc.)

  • Lead and participate in supplier assessments Specializing in Software and Electronics

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of experience in a quality engineering position specializing in software and/or electronics in equivalent experience

  • Familiarity with one or more scripting/programming languages and/or tools such as: C++, C, MySQL, Perl, JAVA, Python

  • Experience with analytics, debugging, problem-solving and root-cause analysis

  • Experience analyzing user stories and technical requirements for validity, feasibility and technical soundness and decompose them to extract positive and negative test scenarios and strong acceptance criteria

  • Experience defining and managing processes

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 1 or more years of enterprise software testing experience

  • Experience collaborating with the development team to improve the quality of the deliverables and ensure the business needs are met

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Kanban, or Lean software development practices

  • 1 or more years of Application Equipment Experience

  • Supplier Auditing Experience

  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP)

  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases

  • Advanced Degree (MBA or Master's) Preferred

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology
