Title: Project Manager - 41280

Your Responsibilities

As a Project Manager for John Deere Des Moines works located in Ankeny, IA, you will lead the Factory Master Planning (FMP) process and work to integrate factory needs into Tillage Product Development Program (PDP) and launch Tillage builds. In addition, you will:

  • Lead the Factory Master Planning (FMP) core team

  • Facilitate the weekly FMP core team meeting

  • Lead FMP project work such as core competency definition or strategic layout planning

  • Develop and maintain tools and data to support the annual FMP process such as layouts, factory maps, and project management tools

  • Lead the integration of Tillage needs into the FMP process

What Skills You Need

  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices and tools (Such as: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), waste elimination, Manufacturing Cycle Time (MCT), and continuous improvement)

  • Experience with material flow and materials management principles, practices and tools

  • Demonstrated understanding of operations management

  • Experience leading strategic cross functional projects

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working with the factory master planning process

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering tools, processes, manufacturing simulation, and manufacturing competency integration

  • Experience with facilities planning and project execution

  • Experience working in a factory with multiple product lines and platforms

  • Experience presenting to factory leadership

  • Experience with make v. buy decisions, make v. make decisions

  • Experience with Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) preparation, and financial analysis

  • Cross functional experience in multiple functions (Such as: Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality Engineering, Material Flow, Supply Management, Accounting, Facilities, and Maintenance)

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • MBA
