Process Technician Job ID: 14800 Job location(s): Ames, US Job Description Danfoss has an opportunity for a Process Technician 3rdShift to join us at our Ames, Iowa location in the US. The Process Technician will be responsible for the assembly process in an assembly cell from set-up to completion. Job Responsibilities Demonstrate specific, significant contributions to team performance improvement, individually and as a key member of improvement teams.Develop new SOPs, Standard works, TPMs procedures for areas of responsibility. Quality and quantity of improvement are both considered.Participate and lead TIP activities and support improvements to MIFA, PFMEA, and Control Plan. Key contributor in the RCPS process with the role "Problem Solver". Strong participation and willingness to lead 4-steps, 8Ds as well as kaizen/continuous improvement events. Investigate issues (production losses, quality problems, scrap, broken tools, safety risks, hazards, injuries, etc), problem-solve, and implement and verify solutions to eliminate recurrences.Assist resolving day-to-day production issues and follow up to eliminate or minimize the need for your involvement in similar future issues. Troubleshooting daily issues, fixing equipment or giving advice and instructions may be called for, but is at the direction of the Team Leader or Manager. Eliminating your involvement includes eliminating the issue from recurring (RCPS), and giving others the tools resolve the issues themselves, using visual aids, SOP's, training, Standard works, etc.Background and Skills Minimum of an AA degree or equivalent from Technical School; and 6 months related experience on Danfoss products, or five years experience in lieu of degree. Desire for 4-year technical degree and/or hands on experience as a PT.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of quality/problem solving tools (PPAP, Capability studies, PFMEA, Control Plan Gauge RandR, 4-Step, 8D, Fishbone)Computer skills, (Microsoft Office, PLC, test stand)Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematicsKnowledge of LOTO procedures, robotics and automationFamiliarity with TPM and SMED techniquesCustomer Service mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits.Excellent safety record and approach to behavioral based safety using proper PPE are requirements.Danfoss - Engineering Tomorrow At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
