Job Description:


The Seed Science Center and the Graduate Program in Seed Technology and Business (STB) seek applicants for a Marketing Specialist I. The successful candidate will assist STB and the Seed Science Center with marketing projects for the promotion of the STB graduate program and other Seed Science Center programs. Duties will include coordinating outreach efforts through advertisements, handouts, social media, press releases, website development and potential representation at various applicable trade shows. This position will also help coordinate the STB semi-annual on-campus short courses and webinar series. These short courses and webinars are outreach for the STB program and the Seed Science Center.

The Marketing Specialist will work collaboratively with the STB program to plan, schedule, advertise and execute STB short courses and webinars throughout the year, and will assist with STB graduate program student recruitment and marketing, orientation, and progress. The incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of ISU and general administrative policies and procedures relating to program and workshop activities.

The successful candidate will possess be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative, and have an exceptional ability to coordinate a variety of activities on various timelines. The candidate will exhibit strong organization skills for the management of multiple projects concurrently. The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion while working with confidential material and information on a daily basis is essential. The candidate will relate positively to workshop participants, students, faculty and staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also mandatory to be successful in this position.
