Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking a lecturer to teach a senior level lean manufacturing course for the 2021/2022 academic year. The course is part of the Industrial Technology undergraduate curriculum. This is a term teaching faculty position with primary responsibilities to the teaching mission of the department. The successful candidate will have experience focused on lean manufacturing, will exhibit excellent communication skills, and will share in Iowa State's commitment to achieving excellence through diversity and inclusion.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in industrial technology, engineering, or business.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience focused on lean manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with educating employees/students on the principles of lean manufacturing.

  • Previous experience in implementing lean manufacturing in an industrial setting.

Department/Program & College Description:

The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering administers four undergraduate degree programs: agricultural engineering, biological systems engineering, agricultural systems technology, and industrial technology. The department has over 40 faculty and serves over 800 undergraduate students and 80 graduate students. The department is highly ranked by US New and World Report for its undergraduate and graduate programs.
