Arnold Motor Supply and its sister company, The Merrill Company, started in Spencer, Iowa, in 1927. Today we’re one of the largest partnerships in the United States with 65 locations in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, and Missouri. Along with our auto parts store locations, we operate two distribution centers, an automotive-refinish division, a light industrial coatings distributor, and a related equipment sales division.
We’re poised to continue our journey of growth and diversification. Our Outside Sales Professional is the primary focal point with our commercial customers. The Outside Sales Pro is our front-line customer relationship manager outside of our stores and focuses on bringing the best solutions for our customers’ automotive parts and equipment needs.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Meet or exceed all revenue targets via cold-calling, effective account management, and goal-driven accountability
C reate and carefully manage annual account planning for existing and potential customers
Develop and utilize effective sales tracking and customer relationship management methodologies. Maintain accurate call reports and other activity reporting.
Maintain high-levels of product and technical knowledge to be a Subject Matter Expert for potential and existing customers.
Maintain close working relationships with our vendors to promote sales and customer service. Ensure our product offerings align with our customers’ wants and needs make and appropriate recommendations.
High level of self-motivation and self-direction!
At least two years of outside sales experience strongly preferred
Sales experience in related lines is preferred, but we’ll teach you the business if you bring the rest of your capabilities
Exceptional relationship development talents
Outstanding communications skills
Strong personal philosophy focused on fostering one of our key differentiators – SERVICE!
Lifting of a minimum of 50 pounds
Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record. Ability to safely operate company vehicle
Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking and sitting
Basic computer proficiency
