In this role you will manage a team who act as liaisons between Compliance, Legal, Product and Regulatory Affairs; as well as other business and technology partners to analyze, develop, implement regulatory projects and to follow up on corrective and proactive controls actions plans. Ensures that assigned business units processes are consistent with company policy and insurance and securities rules and regulations. Supports audits and exams to identify issues and concerns, in addition to creation and coordination of management action plans.
Manages a unit responsible for overseeing and assessing business controls processes for Annuity Operations
Manages, coaches, and develops personnel involved in developing, implementing, and following up on corrective and proactive action plans for operational business processes.
Translates senior management vision and assists with developing the department’s vision, strategy, service levels, and business objectives.
Communicates vision and strategy to staff. Communicates results and analysis to senior management and key internal stakeholders.
Establishes and maintains relationships with Corporate Compliance, Corporate Legal, Product and external parties.
Consults Compliance with audit scheduling, documentation requests, and implementation of process changes.
Evaluates and implements process improvements to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
Reviews and provide recommendations regarding the effectiveness of management action plans.
Monitors management action plan implementation to verify action plans are implemented properly and timely.
Presents findings and recommendations to senior management.
Identifies, locates and provides needed training and resources.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
5+ years in Operations Organization
FINRA Series 6 required; FINRA Series 26 needs to be obtained within 6 months
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High School Diploma required
Prior management experience preferred
Proven leadership skills, including strong coaching ability Experience with project management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
Excellent organization skills
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills and an ability to lead disparate teams towards completing desired objectives
