HENNING CONSTRUCTION Grinder Operator in STEAMBOAT ROCK, Iowa
Duties
[While on the farm, this position is responsible for ensuring that all birds are completely euthanized before being placed onto the belt. The Grinder Operator keeps the process moving [smoothly and timely by being in constant communication with the Trucking Manager. [Learn and retain procedures for start-up, operating, and stopping machinery[. [Constantly monitor machinery (grinder, pumps, and diesel fired generator) to identify maintenance issues[. [Constantly monitor the pump speeds to ensure that proper amount of preservative is being mixed into every load[. [Continuously monitor loading and unloading preservative into the tanks[. [Continuously monitor birds being placed into the system by farm personnel[. V[erify bird weights[. [Oversee farm compliance with proper euthanasia procedures[. [Stop work if farm is out of compliance[. [Ensure that grinder plates and knives have been sharpened and/or replaced before every grind[. [Continuously monitor and control farm conveyor to ensure proper flow of birds into grinder[. [Clean and disinfect the grinder trailer after every grind.[ T[he employee will not care for birds on the farm or provide farm work in any other capacity except as mentioned above. The Trailer is itself a standalone mobile processing unit that will be delivered to the farm utilizing a semi (tractor) before the process begins and will then need to be picked up by a semi later that week by a semi to be returned to the plant. The Grinder [Operator will no[t n[eed to be the operator of the tractor. [Operation of the grinder and transportation of the trailer to and from the farm.
