Lutheran Services in Iowa Foster and Adoptive Licensing Caseworker in Sioux City, Iowa

LSI is seeking a Licensing Caseworker to provide services to clients and families in our Foster Care and Adoption program in Sioux City and surrounding areas (Woodbury, Harrison, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, and surrounding counties as assigned). We've recently expanded our service area and are looking for qualified and capable individuals to serve our clients.

What You'll Do

The Licensing Caseworker is responsible for completing the initial licensing approval processes for prospective foster families and prospective adoption families. The Licensing Caseworker is responsible for training and orientation of families, writing and submitting the home study packet and counseling families who can not meet the needs of children coming into care. Position will additionally work with birth families, DHS and other providers. The Licensing Caseworker will work with families to complete assigned new home studies within project timelines. Must have a strong understanding of licensing rules and adoption rules through the Department of Human Services and Iowa Code.

What You'll Need

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, behavioral sciences or a related field and a minimum of 1 year experience in child welfare services. Desired candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills.
