Lab Technician - Cellulosic Ethanol

DuPont Nevada is looking for talented individuals to join our Nevada, Iowa manufacturing team in the position of a Cellulosic Ethanol Lab Technician. In the Lab Technician role, you will have the opportunity to work within a highly driven team where you can apply your microbiology and analytical skills in our QA/QC Lab. This team provides ongoing support to our large-scale fermentation process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare reagents and supplies for tests

  • Assist with special projects

  • Reporting of test results

  • Analytical testing for process

  • Contamination control - pursue possible sources

  • Maintenance of lab equipment/troubleshooting basic labequipment

  • Data entry of test results

  • Support internal customers

  • Operation of lab equipment including HPLC, GC and NIR

  • Participate in lab problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Practice lab hygiene and follow safety procedures

  • Active participant in training process

  • Perform basic aseptic techniques

  • Implement and adhere to ISO standards

Qualifications

The qualified candidate is an effective, results-driven, self-directed and motivated team player who communicates in an open, honest manner. You are able to work12-hour rotating shifts. You must be flexible to participate in training andpotential shift changes and overtime. In addition, qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • B.S. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry ora related field highly regarded

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in an industrial labenvironment. This is in addition to any college experience.

  • Good record-keeping skills and exceptional attention todetail

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbalcommunication skills

  • Self-starter with systematic decision making, problemsolving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong team player with an ability to work closely withall functional teams within the plant

  • Demonstrated leadership skills highly regarded

  • Must be able to pass a Respirator Fit test

  • Must be willing to be an Emergency Response team member

  • Prior experience with dry-grind ethanol or Ag Bio ishighly regarded
