We have an opening for an Accounts Payable Coordinator. This team member will ensure timely payments and accurate subsidiary accounts payable records by processing high-volume invoices, managing vendor relations, and performing other essential accounts payable administration tasks. The position will work at our Johnston, IA location, with opportunities for hybrid work once fully trained.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor the AP inbox. Work through and respond to inquiries and resolve questions/issues.

  • Receive invoices directly from vendors and forward those invoices to department managers for review and approval. Reviews all payment requests for appropriate documentation and requisite approval authority. Enters properly approved invoices and other contractual obligations into accounts payable system for payment.

  • Ensure all invoices are properly coded and approved according to company policies.

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments accurately and efficiently, handling high volumes effectively.

  • Prioritize invoice payment processing in order t o take advantage of cash discounts, to avoid interest/or penalties, and to adhere to agreed-upon payment terms/plans.

  • Work closely with the vendors to request any applicable changes on invoices, tax removed etc. and respond to payment status inquiries.

  • Prepare 1099 forms and maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9 s for tax reporting.

  • Make recommendations to improve quality of AP protocols and procedures.

    What You’ll Need

  • Associates degree in accounting and/or business administration required, or combination of education and work experience equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

  • AP automation experience preferred

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

  • This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. Specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
