Position Purpose:

The Regional Natural Resources Manufacturing Technology Engineer is a leader in continuous improvement and sustainment of the Natural Resource use and consumption in the production facilities across Starches and Sweeteners North America. Natural Resources that this position would have oversight over include, but are not limited to, Coal, Natural Gas, Electricity, Fresh Water, Wastewater processing aids, and Cooling Water processing aids. As a technical engineer, the Regional Natural Resources Manufacturing Technology Engineer will provide:

▪Continuous Improvement leadership within Natural Resources with emphasis on data analysis and interpretation across multiple locations as well as understanding of broader site and divisional impacts

▪Global collaboration including best practice and knowledge transfer and sustainment

▪Business case development of the technology strategy to enable business success

▪Technical leadership to drive tools and behaviors throughout the organization to optimize Natural Resource consumption balancing customer and environmental requirements

▪Technical leadership for innovation on alternative fuels and optimization of carbon footprint throughout the business

▪Mentoring and coaching of technical talent across the organization

Key Accountabilities:

20%Continuous Improvement: Coordinate and manage the Natural Resource monitoring, reporting, and opportunity identification process – including working with the individual production facilities on daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring and reporting as well as required business wide and corporate reporting. Lead execution of initiatives identified through Continuous Improvement activities.

20% Lead the business function in implementing, monitoring, and closing gaps on behavioral resource management and ISO 50001 implementation

20%Provide technical leadership to the production facilities on evaluating, selecting, and implementing energy and natural resource improvement projects

10% Provide oversight and assist in development of site Natural Resource Manufacturing Technology Engineers

10% Identify opportunities to leverage modeling technology to find ways to reduce natural resource consumption and act as a liaison to the modeling team

10%Test, evaluate, and implement alternative renewable fuel technologies and carbon footprint reduction intiatives

10% Participate in the Global Energy Steering Team and implement any programs / initiatives that may be recommended from the Global Team

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biosystems Engineering or other engineering discipline that has a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass/material balance and process design with 5 years Engineering and/or operations supervision OR Bachelor Degree in a Technical Field with 7 years industrial technical experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change through influence

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and organize/prioritize to meet business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a broad and diverse audience

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex technical, operational, engineering, and business activities

  • Demonstated strong leadership skills and mentoring skills

  • Demonstrated ability to implement technical solutions and best practices

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years in PDG, project engineering, operations supervision, or reliability engineering

  • Understanding and familiarity with process design and operation of Corn Milling production facilities and related processing units

  • Strong skills in Excel and/or databases and competency in process modeling tools

  • Basic competencies in food safety, Root Cause Analysis, Management of Change, and Process Risk Analysis

  • Understanding of CI tools and/or Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to either execute on capital projects or demonstrated ability in working as a key member of a project team

  • Demonstrated ability or understanding of Utilities billing and Utilities forecasting processes, including Coal, Natural Gas, Electricity, and Water

  • Understanding of Natural Gas markets and Electrical rate structures for different geographies

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct economic analysis of varying utility rates and consumptions in production facilities to identify opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams to achieve results
