Overview:

We are seeking an experiencedDatabase Administratorwith a passion for data and delivering outstanding results. This individual will be a key member of the Data Services Team and will have the responsibility of providing recommendations on the best database designs for projects, review and tune database performance issues, design and develop ETL processes, and recommend and implement improvements for database systems, infrastructure, high availability and processes. Successful candidates must be able to learn new technologies, support a 24x7 production environment on a rotational basis, and also ensure accurate and timely information is available to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor database backups and implement database security.

  • Perform regular database maintenance using recommended best practices.

  • Implement and administer high availability solutions for critical databases.

  • Develop and maintain new or existing database applications and systems.

  • Design, develop, implement, optimize, and support ETL processes using SSIS.

  • Performance tuning of databases using a variety of techniques.

  • Create requirements, scope and estimates for database projects.

  • Write and maintain documentation on databases and processes.

  • Prepare test data sets for development, testing, and staging.

  • Actively participate as a project team member and lead projects.

  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external clients.

  • Develop new skills and explore new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • BS in computer science, computer information systems, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience working in a database development environment.

  • Thorough understanding of SSIS package design, deployment and troubleshooting.

  • In-depth knowledge of database design, MS-SQL Server 2000-2016, and T-SQL

  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot database issues and further mitigate the issues they cause.

  • Self-starter with a “can do” attitude that can be part of results-oriented team.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills: ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, and end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional project team environment.

  • Ability to be on-call one week per every 5 weeks.

  • Experience with Oracle database ecosystem desired.

  • Experience with SQL Server high availability technologies such as AlwaysOn preferred.

  • Knowledge of finance and credit card systems is preferred but not required.
