  • Coach teachers, model teaching, observe instruction, and provide feedback on core instruction to teachers 10 hours per week.

  • Provide intensive coaching and modeling during initial instruction days for new-to-the district and new-to-the grade level teachers.

  • Provide professional development for building level teachers and interventionists.

  • Coach grade level teams to analyze and monitor data and the implementation of appropriate strategies and interventions.

  • Assist district in providing district level professional development for staff.

  • Monitor assessments, analyze data, and provide feedback to teachers.

  • Monitors the system for evaluating academic needs of students to ensure on grade level progress.

  • Oversees system for Tier III interventions.

  • Meet with SIT Team to analyze data and design instruction to meet the needs of students.

  • Ensure that regular and annual data reports for Building Student Achievement Team and District Student Achievement Team are prepared.

  • Serve as a member of the building BSAT team to review building data, monitor core instruction, and assist in the implementation of MTSS.

  • Manage district literacy materials at the building level.

  • Attend district literacy team meetings.

  • Communicates effectively with parents, staff, and students.

  • Support and assist teachers with all district literacy initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent.

  • Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.

  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.

  • Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.

  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

  • Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.

    Special Qualification Desired:(Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)

  • 3 years of teaching experience.

  • Master’s Degree in reading.

  • Strong reading background.

  • LETRS, FAST, PBIS, PLC, and MTSS trained or willing to be trained.

  • Reading Recovery or Reading First training is a bonus.

  • Excellent attendance.

  • Technology proficient.

  • Strong data analysis, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Able to work as a team member.

  • Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
