Silgan Containers Corporation Spray Machine Operator in BURLINGTON, Iowa
Essential Job Functions:
Continually monitor the performance of the spray system and make all adjustments necessary to assure proper film weights, distribution, and appearance
Perform minor maintenance on spray machine pumps, guns, and related equipment
Keep all spray equipment, trackwork, floor and general area, clean and free of spray buildup, debris, etc.
Inform Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and poor quality materials or supplies
Perform quality checks as required and make adjustments to machines as needed
Competent in basic SPC, Gainseeker, Protraq and interpretation of SPC charts
Document any out of gate / spec conditions on the SGC-500, and react accordingly. Notify Supervisor and Lab Tech of any out of spec condition.
Handle hazardous materials and wastes properly
Record material usages as required
Other duties as assigned by management
Associates degree or trade school preferred with a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience preferred.
Ability to work efficiently at high speeds. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to take direction as well as be self-motivated and work alone.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat and stand for extended periods of time while performing job duties (up to 12-hours a day). Ability to push, pull, bend, climb, walk, and lift on a continuous basis (up to 12-hours a day). Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds overhead on an occasional basis. Possess excellent hand-eye coordination, adequate dexterity and strength in order to maintain and operate equipment. Ability to distinguish through the use of audio, visual, olfactory, and tactile senses when the equipment is properly operating. Required to wear personal protection equipment as required.
